Weekly Blog 02/27

Surprise: I was surprised when we were learning about the rock cycle. I was surprised that I lava is dried outside then it is rough and if it is cooled in the earth it is shiny and pretty. It was surprising because it is both dried lava but they look totally different. This teaches me that if something is cooled in a different surrounding it can look different that the same thing cooled in another surrounding.

Summary: This week we learned about the rock cycle and minerals. We also did a game and we answered questions about the game. We learned about the three kinds of rocks and what they can look like. The last thing is that we learned about is what minerals can be used in.

Backward looking: I didn't know much about the rock cycle but I did know that rocks can be random shapes and colors. I also knew that some rocks are dried lava. I did not know that there were different kinds of rocks and that they had a specific name. I also did not know that rocks could switch forms.

Inward looking: I feel good about my work this week and my favorite part was that we got to play a game. I disliked that the game was so long and that we had to answer so many questions.  I liked that we got to pick a mineral instead of you picking one for us. I disliked that we  could get denied for what mineral we wanted but it was for a good reason.

Outward looking: My work was similar to other peoples because we all did the same game and the same worksheet but we probably all put it in a different format and had different wording. It was also the same because we all found the same minerals and did the same tests in the game. We all had to write the same information just not the same wording.

Forward looking: I would like to improve the amount of time I take to do things. I would like to do this because I had to rush to finish my work. I would also like to be able to get things done without getting distracted. I would like that because I usually get distracted.
